Smiles of Memorial - Dentist Houston Icon

Energy Corridor, TX

In today’s era, dental implants are created keeping your comfort in mind. At first, Dr. Viet Tran and his dental team will use custom color matching devices to match the shade of your original teeth. Then, our experienced dentist will definitely explain to you the entire process. A dental implant is designed of three major parts: the post, abutment, and also crown.

What is a Dental Implant?

Bid goodbye to ill-fitting dentures and sticky pastes! Dr. Viet Tran and his Smiles of Memorial dental team in Energy Corridor are proud to provide dental implants, installed in-office. No matter whether you have lost one tooth or a full set of teeth, Dr. Viet Tran can easily restore your lost smile with natural-looking and functional dental implants. It’s time to discover the resolution in the dental field that Energy Corridorians are raving about!

Dental Implant Post

The implant post acts just like your original tooth’s root. The root starts at the base of your tooth and reaches into the jawbone present below the gumline. A dental implant post will be installed in the same place. This supports the tooth and makes dental implants unique from traditional restorations as dentures. With a post that is secured in your jawbone, you will be able to eat even hard-to-eat foods for example steak.

Dental Implant Crown

The third section of the dental implant is the crown. A crown utilized for a dental implant has no difference from a normal crown positioned on an original tooth. But, you will not get your final crown until some weeks or months after your dental implant is inserted. After your surgical process, Dr. Viet Tran will position a temporary, removable crown that will look natural but will allow the post to heal in your jawbone before fixing the final permanent crown.

Dental Implant Bridge

If you have lost 3 or more teeth in a row, Dr. Viet Tran might prescribe a dental implant bridge. A traditional bridge fixes a dental crown above the gum line, where the lost tooth is laid. The crown is supported by two adjacent teeth with a crown or band on both those teeth. A dental implant bridge functions similarly in that it anchors a crown where a tooth is laid; however, instead of attaching to nearby natural teeth, the crown is fixed to two dental implants on both of its sides. This enables a safer and secure fit for the lost teeth.

Implants vs. Dentures

There are many reasons why many Energy Corridorians opt for implants over traditional dentures. As we have mentioned above, dental implants are a permanent solution that appears and functions just like an original tooth. Moreover, dental implants can stay for several decades without the need of being replaced. All-in-all, patients at Smiles of Memorial are amazed about the look, feel, and function of dental implants from Dr. Viet “Vince” Tran.
