Dental Fillings

No Mercury! No Metals! No Kidding! We do world class White Dental Fillings in Houston, TX.

No more ugly black or metallic fillings in your future. Let's face it; metal doesn't bond well to teeth. So decay can and eventually does seep into the silver-mercury amalgam repaired tooth. With our white bonded fillings, we not only offer a modern restoration in a natural-looking white but the material bonds so tightly to the healthy part of your tooth, it actually seals the tooth, preventing future decay.

What is a filling?

A filling is the material used to “fill” the area that tooth decay is removed due to a cavity.

What can I expect when I get a filling?

A cavity is the result from tooth decay. Everyone’s mouth is full of bacteria – and while some are helpful, others are bad! Tooth decay is the result of an infection caused by bacteria attacking the enamel on your teeth by turning the sugars that you eat into acids.

How does a cavity form?

When you come into to see Dr. Dernick for a dental filling, you will be given a local anesthesia to help prevent you from feeling any discomfort. He will then begin to remove the bacteria and decay. The next step is etching. Etching is a material that is painted onto the tooth that helps open up the small pores on the tooth to help support or bond the filling to the tooth. Next, our natural white boned fillings will be applied to the tooth. And finally, the tooth will then be polished back to its natural state.
